We are proud that the “Moxy Athens City” hotel located at Omonoia square, Athens has achieved the LEED sustainability certification at Gold level. The project was developed by DIMAND S.A. and is the first Moxy hotel in the city by Marriott International brand.

The major renovation of the existing “Sarogleio” building, previously occupied by the District Court of Athens was carried out within the framework of the LEED rating system. Hence, “Moxy Athens City” is the first hotel in Greece to achieve LEED Gold, becoming therefore a benchmark for the industry, especially for city hotels.

Hospitality is big business in Greece and represents an enormous sustainability opportunity. Its scale is yet impressive: it covers a diverse group of stakeholders and decision makers, including hotel guests, brands, owners and investors, property management and operators, event and meeting planners, industry groups and trade associations, among many others. Hence, the “Moxy Athens City” signals the conscious transition towards going “green” in hotels aligning with associated ESG goals.
