Piraeus Port Plaza 1 was certified with LEED v3 for New Construction & Major Renovation at Gold level in 2018. The old warehouse used previously by Papastratos Cigarette Company has been converted into a modern 14,900 m² sustainable office building utilizing LEED as a framework for maximizing sustainability.

The project employed a variety of strategies to reduce energy and water use, create a healthy indoor environment and rationalize resource demand. Accordingly, the project has achieved significant reduction in energy and water use. Passive design such as energy efficient glazing and upgraded HVAC building systems allowed a considerable reduction in energy demand for lighting and cooling. In parallel, the design was optimized to provide improved thermal comfort conditions for the occupants and visitors. Piraeus Port Plaza 1 has been occupied by an international tenant contributing to the transformation of the entire area surrounding the Project and is in very close proximity to Piraeus Port.
